Cannonball

A look at growing up and responsibility

We all know someone like this, someone who is taking on life's responsibilities and yet trying to retain the freedoms they enjoyed before those responsibilities arrived. In Andrea's case this takes the form of a relationship, then a flat, then a child, then becoming an absent father as his son grows up without him.

Told in short scenes, Andrea's internal and external dialogues tell of a growing inability to grasp his new reality, a continuous need to escape to his own world leaving his partner and child alone and abandoned. Not so much a lack of love as a lack of commitment drives him to his inevitable separation from his family.

Greenside at the Royal Terrace is a bit off the beaten track but this interesting debut play might be just the excuse you're looking for.
