Dangerous Giant Animals - Underbelly

Christina Murdock

This is an incredibly powerful one-woman show. Christina tells of her life growing up with a multiply disabled younger sister and the effect it has on her life and the life of her family. This is a look into the world of the family carer, something that a large number of us may be at points in our own lives. Family carers, in this case a sibling, get little respite or support and however good they are it can overwhelm them. The story is moving and often funny, it is told with a simplicity and truth that cuts right to the heart. Fortunately, Christina is there as you leave with a tissue and time to listen to her audience's own stories - so many people were touched by what she said on the day I was there.

This is an amazing debut piece of work and is the worthy winner of the SIT-UP Awards first award for social impact theatre.
